A worried dad contacted Portsmouth Police at 8:34 pm to report their child refused to come home. The kid’s last known location was the Wayne Hills area.
Police managed to catch up with the juvenile who reported an assault at the hands of an adult. CPS and the Scioto County Sheriff’s officers are also involved in the issue due to abuse claims made by the juvenile in question.
An officer transported the child to SOMC at the instruction of the CPS caseworker. Due to the location of the alleged crime, the sheriff’s office will handle the case.

Threatening Customer
An employee of Speedway contacted police at 8 pm to report that a man who had previously sexually harassed clerks had returned to the scene and was making threats.
Disturbing Behavior
- At 11:35 pm, a Robinson Avenue caller reported someone outside his residence yelling for someone to call the police. When police arrived on the scene, they took a man into custody.
- Ten minutes later, an 8th Street caller reported someone yelling and banging inside a vacant house. Police discovered a homeless woman with mental health issues inside the home. They advised her to leave.
Hey, That’s My Stuff!
- Just after 3 am, an 11th Street caller reported their phone stolen.
- Two hours later, a woman called to report her ex had threatened her and stolen her smartphone. Police took him into custody on an open warrant.
- Just after 10 am, a Washington Street business reported the wheels and catalytic converter stolen from a vehicle.
Caught in the Act
An employee of Portsmouth Block caught a thief in the act at 8:14 am. The man was underneath a vehicle cutting off a catalytic converter.
The man fled in a white Toyota and the employee managed to get the tag number.
Police later found the vehicle in an alley behind a Linden Avenue home and arranged to have the vehicle towed.
