Anthony Lee Kearns, 53, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at SOMC in Portsmouth. He was born June 3, 1968, in Portsmouth to Florence (Kearns) Davis of Portsmouth and the late Curtis L. Richardson Sr.
Anthony was a proud United States Army Veteran, he loved coaching youth sports, and even help create the K.B.A. locally. He was the President of the Browns Backers Portsmouth Club, where he loved to root for the Dawg Pound any chance he got. Anthony was a kind, loving, compassionate motivator to anyone that he came into contact with.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by nine children: Kyle Shonkwiler (Stephanie Korczyk) of Wheelersburg, Anthony Lee Kearns, Jr. of Portsmouth, Alexander Crabtree of Portsmouth, Curtis Kearns of Portsmouth, Shavaughn Shonkwiler (Paul Moorman) of Columbus, Jordan Kearns, Sharia Kearns, Kylisha Kearns, and Jacqueline Bautista all of Portsmouth, four grandchildren; Jakaria, Kye, Tre, and Elijah. He is also survived by his siblings; Christopher Poore (Lorna) of Columbus, Curtis Richardson Jr., (Barb) of Columbus, Benita Kearns of Portsmouth, Tina Battle (Charles) of Georgia, Joy Thomas (David) of Columbus, and Chinyere Richardson (Devon Queener) of Columbus, step-siblings; Eric Scott, and Debbie, Reggie, and Elton Davis, a special brother, Coren Dickerson, of Portsmouth, and a host of nieces and nephews that loved him, and the love of his life, Sherry Kearns-Lewis.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 27, 2021, at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with Richard Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott.
A visitation for friends and family will be on Monday, at the church, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. Masks are required at the church.
