Two people were arrested after a domestic dispute quickly escalated into a full-scale police operation.
At around 11 pm, Portsmouth Police received a call about a domestic violence incident.
An armed man was reported to be barricaded inside a home in the 1400 block of McConnell Avenue.
Six PPD cruisers lined the streets and blocked the intersection within five minutes.
A notification was sent to the Chief of Police and a notice was sent to the SWAT team.
The officers didn’t waste time and entered the house 15 minutes later.
After 4 minutes inside the home, officers had two in custody.
It was discovered that Madison McLaughlin, 24, had an outstanding warrant for drug abuse.
Domestic violence charges were filed against Caleb Moerch, 30. He was also treated by PFD for a cut on his hand.
A neighbor told SCDN that there are several young adults living in this rental property, but they cannot confirm whether these two were residents or visitors.
Moerch was released on his own recognizance. Following the payment of a $300 bond, McLaughlin was released from custody.
