From the Portsmouth Police Chief’s Daily Briefing
Child Neglect Allegations
Just after 10 am, a caller reported a Charles Street mom for leaving two little kids home alone. Officers found nothing suspicious at the home and when they spoke to the caller, who was parked outside the home, they discovered the children were in daycare and the call was unfounded.
Police warned her that the mom she reported could file a stalking case against her if she makes false allegations and loiters outside her home.
At 11 am, the mom decided she did indeed want to file harassment charges against the person who made the complaint against her.
Officers also spoke with Scioto County Children Services about the issue, which appears to be ongoing.
Aunt Calls Police on Unruly Teen
A fed-up aunt contacted police just after 12:35 am to say her teenage niece was acting unruly and refusing to surrender her phone.
By the time officers arrived, the teen had given up her smartphone. Police advised all parties to get along.
