Darrell Franklin Pennington, 58, of West Portsmouth, died peacefully, Thursday, December 24, 2021, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born March 7, 1963, in Portsmouth, to the late Millard and Ethel (Evans) Pennington Sr.
Darrell worked for the City of Portsmouth, Ohio E.P.A. Division, was a former member of the Elks Country Club and was a proud member of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Pennington, a daughter, Stacy Davey (Max) of Euclid, OH, three step-sons; John Kirkpatrick (Kasey) of Franklin Furnace, Josh Kirkpatrick (Stephanie) of Garrison, KY, and Ryan Kirkpatrick (Jade) of Rosemount, OH, a brother, Millard “Pete” Pennington (Mary Kay) of Chillicothe, two sisters, Sandy Seibert of Greenup County, KY and Cindy Pennington of New Boston, OH, a brother-in-law, Leonard Powell (Kim) of Summerfield, FL, a sister-in-law, Tammy McGue (Butch) of Wheelersburg, a mother-in-law, Patty Spriggs of Portsmouth and several nieces and nephews
Darrell is also survived by seven grandchildren, Olivia, Korbin, Jensen, Jack, Maci, Kali, and Sophia, and his best buddy, his dog Petey.
A visitation for friends and family will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
A private burial service will follow where military honors will be provided by the American Legion, James Dickey Post #23.
