David Thoroughman Sworn in as Scioto County Sheriff
David Thoroughman was sworn in today at the Scioto County Courthouse as the new sheriff. Surrounded by close friends and family, Thoroughman stated he wished more citizens could participate. Officers from the Portsmouth Police Department as well as the Sheriff’s Office and other local and state agencies were in attendance.
Thoroughman spoke with SCDN just minutes before the ceremony began. He indicated that there will be a K9 officer assign through the Sheriff’s Office. Thoroughman went on to emphasize that he will be a “Public” sheriff and not an “Office” Sheriff which he echoed again in his remarks to the public.
