Man Calls Neighbor “Fat Blue Smurf” 

Officers responded to a disturbance on 16th Street just after 7 pm. A woman said her neighbor was having an argument with unknown people and that she tried to calm things down.  

He became angry and called her a “fat blue Smurf.”  She said she told the man that he’s the reason her kids are afraid to play outside and that he said they should be afraid of him.  

Police gave her advice on how to file a protection order.

Woman Screams For Help on Mabert Road 

Just before 10 am, witnesses reported a woman screaming that someone “kicked her teeth out” on Mabert Road.  

When officers responded to the scene, they detained a man with an open warrant and took him into custody.

Homeless Elderly Man Found Wandering in Road 

A sad situation was reported in the area of Gallia and Kendall just before 6 pm.  

A caller said an older man using a walker was walking in the middle of the road. The caller said the man appeared to be confused.  

Officers responded to the scene and gave the man a ride to the 17th Street Homeless Shelter.  

Around 3 am, callers reported a woman walking in the middle of the road on Walnut Street. When officers spoke to her, she said she was angry because the City of Portsmouth stole her father’s house on Mabert Road. Police told her they were concerned for her safety and asked her not to walk in the road.  

Just after 6 pm, police were called to 11th and Hutchins for a report of a man on a walker in the middle of the street. Officers returned the man to the homeless shelter where he’d been living.
