Man Tasered After Attacking Moving Vehicles
Deputies were forced to deploy a stun gun after a man freaked out in traffic on Coleman Rd/Dry Run Rd.
Just after 6 pm, witness said a man wearing a blanket kept running into the road and trying to kick vehicles as they drove by and attempting to break into cars.
When officers arrived on the scene, they used a taser to detain the man. Medics checked the man out but decided he didn’t need to go to the hospital.
Deputies advised the jail that the man was combative. He was booked into the Scioto County Jail on charges of assault, resisting arrest, and obstructing official business. This was his 12th visit to the jail.
Man Wants Cops – But Doesn’t Know His Address
A man living near the Scioto/Pike County Line contacted law enforcement just after 1:30 am to complain someone had broken into his fifth wheel. He said he had called authorities multiple times, but no one showed up.
Officers asked for his address, and he said he didn’t have one because he is from Camp Creek. He said he would go check his mailbox and call back. He never did call back, but officers figured out where he might be calling from and headed to the scene to investigate.
Man Calls 911 For Taxi Ride
A man contacted officers at 7:34 am and told Portsmouth Police that there were people outside a Pyle Street home threatening to beat him up. He also claimed there had been two gunshots fired.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered the man was visiting his Uncle’s house and was looking for a ride out of the area.
When officers refused, he asked if they could take him to his sister’s house on Liberty Street. An officer explained that police would not give him a ride and that he should not call 911 unless there were an emergency.
An officer contacted the man’s nephew, who agreed to come and get him. However, police returned to the home half an hour later after the man called 911 again and warned him not to do it or face arrest. He said he understood.
