Suspicious Activity
Just after midnight, a caller reported a man dressed all in black walking down US 52 and ragging something. They said the man was partly in the road. Officers spoke to the man, who said he was walking to Wheelersburg. They advised him to be careful.
Under the Influence
- At 6 am, officers responded to Dorman Drive for a report of an overdose. They said the man checked out okay.
- Just before 9 am, a caller reported a woman ‘messed up on drugs” running with a stroller on Clare Avenue. Officers said the woman was fine and just waiting for an appointment.
Shoeless Child Wandering on 7th Street
Officers responded to a report of a shoeless small child wandering on 7th Street, appearing to be lost.
Officers checked out an address and notified CPS of the incident. They were unsure if CPS would follow up or not.
Driver Runs Stop Sign, Hits City Truck
Just before 10 am, a driver rand a stop sign at Grant and Grandview and hit a city truck. Police cited the man for running a stop sign.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
Police located a stolen truck that had been spray-painted a different color on 7th Street just after 10 am. They arranged to tow the vehicle.
DOA
Police responded to a report of a deceased individual at Hudson House just after 11 am. They notified a local funeral home to retrieve the deceased.
Meanwhile at Speedway
At 11:30 am, officers answered a report of a man shoplifting at the Speedway on Gallia. Officers served the man with a no-trespass order.
Worried Family
A worried dad asked the police to check on his adult daughter. He said the family hadn’t spoken to her in two weeks.
The woman told police she was fine and did not want to speak with her family.
Neighbors Confront Man Over Beating Dog
Kentland Avenue neighbors reported that a resident was beating his dog and the neighbors confronted him over the issue leading to a verbal altercation on the sidewalk.
Officers checked out a video of the incident and spoke to the suspect, advising him to quiet down and go inside.
Biker Girls
A Charles Street caller reported a teenage girl speeding on a dirt bike just before 5:30 pm.
Half an hour later, a Campbell Street caller said 2 little girls on dirt bikes almost hid someone on the sidewalk. A witness said the kids, who looked to be around 7, were driving through people’s yards.
Police spoke to the kids and advised them to behave.
