Portsmouth Speedway’s issues with vagrants and addicts don’t show any signs of letting up. You’ll recall corporate security contacted PPD to ask if anything could be done about vagrants and addicts harassing customers and staff, but PPD said they were doing all they could.
At 3 pm, Speedway employees contacted officers to report a woman in a plaid shirt attempting to start a fight.
The woman left before the police arrived. Officers advised employees they could bar the woman from the store if they’re able to make contact with her.
About 10 hours later, an employee said a man had been in the bathroom for three hours and had not left. Police identified the man, barred him from the store, and told him not to return. He signed the form agreeing he understood he was not welcome and left the scene.
Employees called police back to the store for a third time for a man in a black jacket who acted as if he were on drugs. Officers took that man into custody.
Later, officers received another report of a man harassing people for money in the area. Witnesses said he appeared to be under the influence. However, the police could not locate the man.
