A Portsmouth man with more than 20 arrests under his belt is back behind bars after a raid by the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force on Tuesday morning.
Officers from the Southern Ohio Drug Taskforce, assisted by the Portsmouth Police SWAT team served a drug-related search warrant at the Summit Street apartment of 43-year-old Ronald Dee Swords.
Police turned up 59 grams of suspected heroin, $2,530 in cash, drug scales, and other evidence of drug trafficking in the home. Officers say the heroin has an approximate street value of $7,000.
Police charged Swords with drug possession and trafficking drugs. Swords has a long arrest record, including previous arrests on drug charges. Police placed him in the Scioto County Jail. He’s due to face the judge in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Thursday.
