1. Woman Reports Burglar Attempting to Steal Pool

A Pleasant Avenue resident contacted officers at 9:30 am to report a man was beating on the side door of her home, attempting to get in, and was now beating on her pool. She said he had a large metal pole in his hand and was tossing items into the pool.

When officers responded to the scene, they learned that owner of the home had given the man permission to take the pool down and keep it and that there was no burglary.

2. Taxi Driver Calls Cops on Young Passengers

An unhappy taxi driver called the police on three kids he picked up to drive to school. He said when the kids didn’t pay up, he told them to leave, but they refused. They eventually got out and started walking in the direction of Wayne Hills.

Officers caught up with the passengers at 17th and Thomas. When police spoke to the driver on the scene, he said the kids were supposed to pay when they got to school, but they were misbehaving in the taxi, so he told them to get out.

Police said they had a hard time getting the full story because one of the passengers kept talking over them, and her mother eventually joined in, making it harder to investigate.

Officers determined that since the suspects were never driven anywhere and eventually left the cab that no crime occurred.
