First responders treated multiple people, including a pregnant woman after a drug-related incident and a woman who was TASED and maced at a PMHA property. We break down the Portsmouth Police Chief’s Daily Briefing.
Pregnant Woman Treated After Drug Use
Multiple units responded to a Mabert Road home after a woman said her husband was unresponsive.
Additional units were called to treat a pregnant woman who had used drugs. Medics worked on the unresponsible husband on the transport from the home to the hospital.
Cry for Help
Officers were called into action at 8 am after a friend said a woman posted a threat to harm herself on Facebook.
The woman was not at the addresses given by her concerned friend. The friend called back to say she’d discovered the friend had actually moved to another state.
Under the Influence
- Just before 9 am, a Wayne Avenue caller reported a woman lying next to a dumpster on Wayne Avenue. Police advised the woman to return to her home and warned her about disorderly conduct.
- At 10:31 am, a caller reported a white Jeep weaving in and out of traffic on the Scioto Trail. Police could not locate the vehicle.
Grandma Reports Domestic Violence
Police were called to the King’s Daughters Urgent Care to take a report from a woman undergoing treatment. She said her granddaughter had become abusive with her because she was angry that a plumber working on her home had disturbed her.
The abuse was verbal and the woman said it had been happening for some time. Police didn’t feel the incident rose to the level of assault but advised the woman to call them if the granddaughter threatened her again. They also advised the woman on how to evict someone.
Drunken Ex Threatens Woman
Officers responded to a Gallia Street gas station for a report of a woman being harassed by an intoxicated ex-boyfriend. She said he’d come to her place of business and harassed her. Police issued a BOLO and advised the woman on the process for filing a protection order.
Troubled Man Acts Out
A troubled man, whom police have arrested for disorderly conduct over 50 times, was spotted screaming and going through the trash at Kroger at 6:30 pm. Police could not locate him.
Twenty minutes later, an employee at Glockner Auto Credit reported the man was there beating on a car. An officer picked up the man and transported him closer to where he usually hangs out.
Woman TASERED and Maced
Just before 8 pm, a caller reported a group of people fighting with mace and TASERS at PHMA property on Waller Street.
A few minutes later a woman called in to report that she’d been jumped and her attackers had TASED and maced her.
When officers responded to the scene, they determined it was a mutual fight. They advised all parties not to contact each other.
